Haiku: 106 & 107
106
trees glowing at night
a full moon crawling with worms
the dark is too bright.
107
man ray or link wray
richard or robert wagner –
all fame is fleeting.

Haiku: 102 to 105
102
the vet killed the rat
age hung like fog in the air
everyone felt cold.
103
i don’t love you
i have always hated snow –
both of you are here.
104
please lift up your head
i have nothing to tell you
have faith someone does.
105
don’t sing the words
you’ll lose them to the wind
who will believe you?

Haiku: 90 to 93
90
her dark hair floating,
blood in the bathtub
blackbirds breaking the window.
91
bent across my knee
your pants down, so excited –
what are we doing?
92
the window washer –
putting his life on the line
without guns or gang.
93
flowers behind bars
wilting and guilty, thirsty,
feigning innocence.

Haiku: 31 to 37
31
look – a concrete sky
don’t tell me not to worry
earth is wet cement.
32
look – a concrete sky
coloured like a newspaper
every inch as bleak.
33
look – a concrete sky
for atheists a monday –
fridays kept for prayer.
34
look – a concrete sky
we stay inside on tuesday,
sweating all day long.
35
look – a concrete sky
it’s scaring everybody –
money just won’t work.
36
look – a concrete sky –
who do i remind you of –
you fucking asshole.
37
look – a concrete sky –
now i know that God exists,
only my opinion.
look – a concrete sky
don’t tell me not to worry
earth is wet cement.
32
look – a concrete sky
coloured like a newspaper
every inch as bleak.
33
look – a concrete sky

fridays kept for prayer.
34

35

36

37

now i know that God exists,
only my opinion.

Haiku: 22 to 30
22
i hear centipedes
undulating in the light,
now you in the dark.
23
a dog in the road
dragging garbage behind him
covering his tracks.
24
the praying mantis
loses his head then the rest –
without one regret.
25
i can’t wait to die –
wait, i don’t really mean it
these drugs must be good.
26
you see the Buddha
in your eyes i see Jesus
is one of us blind?
27
all the dying kids
scarred and scared in hallway beds –
why am i alive?
28
say the dog ate it,
explain it to saint peter –
the dog ate your life.
29
don’t crow about it
i can’t talk about your cock –
can’t you see i’m straight?
30
take out the garbage
let’s eat chips and watch tv
pretend we’re married.
i hear centipedes
undulating in the light,
now you in the dark.
23
a dog in the road
dragging garbage behind him
covering his tracks.
24
the praying mantis
loses his head then the rest –
without one regret.
25
i can’t wait to die –

these drugs must be good.
26
